Scratch That Itch!

It's easy as an artist to feel less than contented. We work our day jobs waiting for that moment we can create something (or sometimes we steal a few minutes away and scribble down a song, or doodle on a pad!)

The only thing that REALLY gets us feeling like we are ON is creative work.

"Let us get a day at the page or the easel and we are suddenly sunny and user-friendly...Artists have an itch that nothing can scratch except (creative) work." - Julia Cameron

There's nothing like a full day of creating. A gig that goes well, and an audience pleased. Nothing like revealing that song, painting, writing, sculpture, or dance routine for the first time and seeing the amazement and satisfaction it gives the admirer.

It's just a sense of getting things done and out of you. That's why my work as a music maker (producer, songwriter, artist) can be so fulfilling. At the end there is a song (or album of songs) to show off to the world and get their feedback.

So scratch that itch today. Make a few minutes or hours to get to one of your creative projects. Get it further down the road, or finish it. Or start it!

Your mood will improve and you'll feel like you're getting somewhere.

Have a great day!
